Disciplines are groupings of tasks and work products for which comparable knowledge and skills are needed. We distinguish the following disciplines within the development team:
As can be seen in the picture below, the disciplines are not confined to one phase but play a role in every phase.
Every discipline is needed during the complete development cycle, although its emphasis differs per discipline.
Outside the development team we have not divided the tasks and skills. We subsume them under 'Stakeholders', by which we mean all roles with their tasks and skills which have a stake in the project (outside the development team) or in the product.
